In April 2003, we moved into our garden home in Lamphun. Our land is by the Ping River with 200 meters long of river bank. This photo shows our river bank at the northern part of the land before the concessioner started pumping the sand out of the river in front of our land without permission!!!

The put up and clean the sand pumping from the river next to our fence, caused serious damage to our river bank right away.

The river bank started to collapse portion by portion as showed in this photo!

With our first complaint, the sand concessioner filled back the sand and gravel pumped from the river and put up bamboo fence.

The filled sand and gravel was washed away by the flow of the river because the pumping of the sand has not stopped. No government official stop their illegal action.

Despite another damaged to our river bank, the illegal sand pumping continued!!
